IMO, George is the ideal anchor for the
Six
- he's a very good newsreader (if you forget the overstressing of the syllables "B-B-C") and the
Six
should become a lot more watchable now we don't have him uncomfortably tossing headlines between a female colleague and himself.

I don't think this has been linked to but it's a clip of a few bits of continuity from the day - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mDt1cYkoc4 including Nicholas Witchell and John Ketley presenting from a cupboard and Ian McCaskill getting a battering the following day.

Paxman looked quite miffed during Breakfast Time .
And it was amusing seeing the Fish-meister doing the weather from his computer's crummy little monitor

Well this is yet more bad news about news in my opinion.
I think that George is too bland to hold a programme himself. I would have preferred Sian or Fiona to present this programme as a solo anchor.
Sky, ITV, BBC network and BBC Scotland have been riddled with bad news and decisions lately. While stv are planning another news programme - I aint sure it will be more than fluff and fillers.
News programmes are doomed either with weak presenters or weak agendas and reportage.
Ananova is the way to go!!!

I think the BBC needs to clean its studio for the news. At the start of the ten o clock tonight its looked disgusting, with all the black marks on the floor and the mini stage where the news desk sits looks very worn round the edges. I would hate to think what this looks like if we all were watching HD.

I think it is more than the studio that needs a clean. I would be for some of those BBC News gurus to clean out as well! I think Mr Sheen and Mrs Dyson are not the answer to the problems at dear old auntie - sadly!

Well, with all the cuts cleaning will probably be written into George's new contract.
It be interesting to know if he'll be getting a pay-rise to host the programme solo - though of course this being the BBC, we're not privy to the information telling us how our money is spent!
