This happens from time to time. I've seen the BBC World DOG on WNT on BBC Four a few times.

I had to chuckle at the library footage used during on a report about mobile phones charges in the summary on the Andrew Marr Show this morning.

Either somebody didn't bother looking at the footage or they were having a laugh. Every single mobile shown was the size of a housebrick and wouldn't have looked out of place in the mid-90s. It was even in 4:3 which should have been a clue to the researcher that it wasn't contemporary stock. Laughing

If the report was about mobile phone changes, maybe they used the above pictures to show what mobiles used to look like?

I woke up on my friends sofa feeling like death a couple of hours ago, and in my groggy state thought I'd catch the news so whacked on News 24, only to see those mobile phone library images. Cheered me up no end! A telling smirk showed that Charlie Stayt was also clearly amused.

Acceptable in the 80s.

You misread - I said it was about mobile phone CHARGES (ie they are cheaper across the EU from today)

This is not really ..that.. related to the BBC but went up to Blackpool for a day and remembered the Tory conference was on at the Hilton Hotel is where all the heavy security is - was gonna take a few pictures of all the media scrum there with the cameras for N24 etc but thought security would not take too kindly to it. :p

News on the Sophie Raworth forum that she is expecting her 3rd child in February.
Wonder who will take over the One 0 clock news?.
Sian, Jane or someone else??

I suspect it will be Louise Minchin, who seems to be the main Friday cover at the moment.

Breakfast presenter Sian Williams has been mentioned, but I gather the smart money is on News 24's Kate Silverton.

"Kate is seen as a rising star and she is highly thought of by the suits as well as the viewers," says my well-placed source in Television Centre.

I hope Jane Hill gets the 1 when Sophie is on maternity... and lets hope that Sophie ends up back in her post when she returns..although Louise Minchin is good...and natural.....but then it will prob be Sian.. if they use a pecking order kind of thing and put Silverton ( Jade ) on Breakfast full time ... what do you guys think?

I don't think Sian will give up Breakfast for the 1 surely? It's not a heavy weight like the 6 or 10 is it? My money is on Jane (surely it's her turn by now she has worked hard enough at BBC News for a decent programme of her own?).

As long as it's not that Ben Brown character. They seem hell-bent on shoving him wherever they can.
