kate just coverd emilys face on the daily mail then procided to toss it on the floor straight after
If you made a mitake at least admit it and not cover it up.
I d imagne the newswatch inbox will be full to the brim this week
The 'story' featurette on the cover of the Daily Mail relates to Emily Maitlis supposedly showing a bit too much leg during a Ten promo shown just before 9pm on BBC One.
From the typically sanctimonious stance that the Mail has taken, one would think that Emily had been sitting on the desk in a mini-skirt and no knickers with her legs spread in the direction of the camera.
So I'm really not surprised that they're not giving this any airtime on Breakfast - it's the Daily Mail deciding to get all hot and bothered in its usual hypocritical way.
Still, as long as the Mail sells more papers with some preachy bullsh!t, and gets more visitors to its website with some celebrity nudity, that's all that matters really.

From what I read this morning, Emily had her brain in standby mode during News 24's coverage of the space shuttle landing last night.

At the risk of appearing like I am mindlessly defending Emily, I watched Endeavour's approach and landing live yesterday afternoon (during the 5 O'Clock News on N24, if I recall), and I really don't remember her commentary being anything like as bad as that forum makes out.
I remember her saying something along the lines of "the shuttle was upside down just a few moments ago...<long pause>...clearly it's righted itself now..."
Her ability to effectively comment over the footage of Endeavour's approach was also somewhat limited by the sporadic interruptions of the crew/ground communications (presumably from the NASA TV stream).
I should make it clear at this point that I'm really no great fan of Emily Maitlis, I think she was barely good enough on BBC London (and it still perplexes me as to how she was selected for promotion to Newsnight and the Ten so quickly), and it really REALLY annoys me when she drops her head slightly to one side - but I also don't agree with criticism for the sake of it, or because it's
en vogue

I didn't see it, so I can't comment. However, I'd consider that 'the BBC' were the ones interrupting NASA's commentary, not the other way round.
From previous recent coverage, it's better and far more useful to hear the voice of the NASA flight controller, where else is any info going to come from ?
All the presenter in the studio can see, is what the viewers can see anyway.
I seem to recall a few years ago, Moira Stewart saying; "let's hope the crew have safe flight", when commenting on the launch of a Mars probe !
