As the BBC News 24 thread is being archived later, it is probably best to bring the existing "BBC News Thread" to a close as well and kick start this one with discussion of changes which may ripple from N24 to the Nationals.

This thread will not be on a timer but please keep all N24 discussion to the new sticky thread from later this morning.

No changes to the 10.58 am summary to report.

But in the BBC editors blog, it confirms that there will be a new look title sequence introduced for the 1, 6 and 10.

Nice new titles to the 1 O'Clock News.

And new astons as well.... which don't really match those on News 24.

Nice headline aston. It'll look better when it is full screen, so it is inline with the ticker placeholder.

Old headline bed lives on (why?), New titles are visually poorer than the last set (especially the wipe) but the music is an improvement (same as world/news24). The name aston is ugly, the live/location is the same as before, with an added BBC News tag on the bottom (covers the ticker on news 24?) The headline story slug looks immensely better though.

Stills look good. Do you think the regional BBC news programmes will have new sound + vision soon like Wales Today and Newyddion?

With the greatest of respect, could we just comment on what we've seen and wait and see if the regions and nations get updated looks?
