I like the old BBC Four News desk.

BBC News have been quite subtle and unique in their change of desk designs of recent years, and copied by many (ITV NC's not being too reminicent of a hybrid "2002/2004 BBC N24" desk
However, I think I can solve your problem as to the end destination of at least one of the BBC Regional desks - it appears to have ended up on the recently re-launched set of TV3 News in Ireland

Loosely on the topic of BBC furniture, where can one acquire one of these arms for sticking your TFT screen like in the picture below, nicked from the BBC broadcast website?
http://tvforum.ath.cx:8080/tvftemp/bbcmediacentreplayout.jpg
I am thinking of replacing this chunky CRT with a TFT screen and it would be nice if I could mount it from the desk (oo-er that sounds really dodgy!
)on an adjustable arm; rather than sticking copies of the Yellow Pages and Argos catalogue underneath the base of the screen to get it to a height that I would be comfortable with like I do now.
Any ideas?

I'm sure there'a million different types of such a contraption on the internet if you search about....
They look very neat alright.
Agreed about the figure of eight desk of yore - a classic

Indeed that whole set was - so good it should have been kept for ever more. Even now, seven years later it isn't remotely dated.
The best news set I've ever seen, and certainly the best the BBC ever had - a tragic loss being used for such a short time.
Even the new desk that came in mid-way was a disappointing replacement:

...even if the wall changes gave it a wonderful boost.
As Stuart says, the TV3 'News' (
) desk is as good as identical!

I liked the Lawley and Witchell desk of the mid-eighties (although not when it had lesbians handcuffed to it.)

I want a plasma like the one on the BBC World set. Nice and big!

Hmmm - using Aaron's anatomy as a guide, I would say it's at least 50" wide x 30" high. But, hey, I'm no expert Damo.
It is a good shot though, isn't it?
