Ellie Crissell to go, by the sounds of it.

Does that go against the whole point of the update? Make it different from other bulletins, to catch younger viewers and bring their attention to news.

With the announcement in the other thread that World and the News Channel would share content between 8pm&9pm i wonder whether the duty news channel presenter who does the 7pm hour will present the 8pm update. Also, I get the impression that 5pm bulletin will no longer have a separate presenting team.

I don't see anything wrong with that actually. I much prefer World over the Nc anyway...

Whats the point of the BBC Four bulletin though if World News Today is going to be broadcast on the News Channel and hour later. Wouldn't it have made more sense to share the 9pm hour removing the need for the virtual studio and providing viewers with a different style of program (Business Edition).

Who says World News Today will still exist at 8pm next year? It's too early to complain about specifics when nothing has really been announced.

I think it's a shame we're losing double-headed presentation completely by the sounds of it. Adds a bit of variety and better capabilities for presenters to prepare when news breaks. I don't see much reason not for saving money by offering a World bulletin in the evening though.

Good point about potential schedule changes.
I can't really see it saving much money though - The facilities required (staff, studio etc) are already available as the content will be.

The BBC Three 60 Seconds presenter could pre-rec the BBC One bulletin in the interim. As both 60 Seconds and the 8 target a younger audience.

I guess they could still go double headed when a significant story breaks, its not like there wont be another presenter available inside the building.

How the hell do you know given that no specifics about shifts have been given? There are obviously going to be a lot of backroom changes which haven't been announced

Though the findings of the trust today on BBC Three, that it is severely lacking any breakthrough online, makes it somewhat doubtful at this stage. Some BBC News articles talk of the move online as a foregone conclusion, which is simply not the case.
