Karin Giannone
She usually does overnights but is being used more and more as cover throughout the day.
She certainly does a good job. It is annoying that the BBC Ten O Clock News hour is completely destroyed due to football, meaning no sports bulletin for the news channel.
On a side point, I notice that Philip Avery is doing the weather and the graphics must be automated as he has no clicker in his hand. Is this becoming the norm? Is there a reason why a clicker isn't used?

Carole Walker I think - political correspondent and former presenter of Head2Head.
No, was definitely Karin Gianone
Ah my apologies I last tuned in at about 8.30 and it was Carole then and got confused with shifts and thought it was still her
oh well.
Whilst on the subject, I do like Karin and think she works just as well on her own as with a partner.

I think that the graphics these days are pretty fixed in length - as the 3D fly-rounds can't be sped up or slowed down. I think that a clicker can be used to start, stop and possibly jump to an end board, though even that may not now be possible. On the plus side - it means weather can't be used as a random-length buffer any more (as they once were)
On some bulletins the graphics are actually played in from a graphics disc player rather than a weather computer (or there is a backup on the graphics player)

It comes from the same CSO studio as used for 60 Seconds, the BBC One daytime summaries, and the news interactive loops. The 8pm summary comes from a proper studio.

The CSO used for the sports headlines looked awful. How come it is so bad. Is this the same screen as used for the 8pm update?

N6 is still in use for the overnight simulcast, something going on in N9 perhaps?

Was just about to comment on that! Very unusal to see N6 on World. Maybe we'll get to see the new World set soon.
