Now this thread has almost reached 100 pages, I wanted to ask if anyone's opinions of the rebrand have changed over the past 6 weeks. I know many people took an instant dislike to it, but others were on the fence.

Personally, I feel it has become too boring. The idea ws never original enough to start with, and now all the hype has gone, it just seems bog-standard.

Also, I saw almost a copy of the BBC News globe on the door of Boarders Bookshop in York, and was told by the staff that the logo has been on there for years. Seems someone at Lambie-Nairn has cheated in the design process!

I have to say, I started off liking the titles and hating the graphics. Now I like the graphics, and find the titles incredibly boring and empty...

I was surprised by the graphics at first - surprised that they were just too simple and boring compared to the last set used from 2007. Now though, I really love the graphics, even the grey ticker which I really despised at first.

The titles are just meaningless to me, they're nice - but not something I'd say were brilliant.

Why can't the News Channel presenter that's on air - present the Weekend Bulletin Simulcasts on BBC One, why does it have to be a separate presenter?

Is it too much to ask the likes of Chris Lowe and Peter Sissons (who were main bulletin presenters of BBC News on BBC One in the past) to present the simulcast, rather than all this chopping and changing of presenters, it lacks some consistency. It must also cost more money, which they said they'd be saving.

Hear Hear.

Why hasn't this been mentioned on Newswatch ?

Presumably some preparation has to be done by the presenter of the national bulletin that Sissons/Lowe can't do as they're on air.

If you want to find out you could always contact Newswatch.

It has been proved that it is possible though. There has been the *odd* weekend where the news channel presenter has presented the network bulletin.

Surely it's better than the situation at lunchtime though where the newsreader says goodbye to you then carries on reading the news.

No I'm quite happy with that situation, it would only be improved if there was a little more time to be able to say that the news is available throughout the afternoon on the news channel. I think it just would look better to the news channel, and makes so much more sense when cost matters.

So that's why the BBC News DOG always comes up early then!

Looks like they were having a few problems changing it too.

Not really, they just happen to have both versions, it's probably programmed in all the Virtz generators.

Still think BBC News 24 was better, better vamp, better graphics, it felt like a 24 hr fast paced news channel
