The news channel has opted out of the 6... glad they are taking the ireland referendum seriously

Intially with amusing updates to the strap as text was (apparently hurriedly) being entered - Not the best idea to try and fit "Ireland EU Referendum: Taoiseach Speaking in Dublin" all on one line!

Reboot
News Channel currently playing host to Mr Cockup - they're replaying an interview from a few hours ago (with someone from the Irish Socialist party)... with LIVE | Dublin in the corner.

Good to see they've got rid of those horrible white boxes (which everyone here liked!!!) and are using the full screen for interviews etc.

No no, this was a face-to-face interview. Michael Heseltine actually is that large.

Yeah the main problem is on Joanna's side, the screens are too close, whilst its the opposite for the other presenter, its just all wrong really, at least this didn't exist in the previous set.

I don't know if this has been mentioned recently, but I am noticing more and more - the presenters being upscaled because of the huge cracks in the BARCO screens being so visible - as well as the mis-matched tints. When on earth are they going to sort this out?

Well quite clearly they can't - this is as good as it's going to get.

That's because it was direct from RTE's 'clean feed' where Ahern's statement was made.

They provided a clean feed, but due to technical reasons, RTEs clean feed included locators. Usually RTE viewers have locators, dogs, astons and in yesterday's case constant updating tickers. The feed the BBC were given only had locators.

Looks like they're having problems with the ticker, it's been blank for the past 10 minutes.

Yup, looks like all the graphics have crashed now - no astons or anything. It's odd how different a news channel feels without its on-screen decoration... Confused

The BBC News mobile advert still was not removed from screen quick enough, it just appeared on BBC One, and also looked as though there was an auto cue problem as Ben had to read from his script.
