Good to see they've got rid of those horrible white boxes (which everyone here liked!!!) and are using the full screen for interviews etc.

It's good that they are using the full screen for interviews but now the interviewee is far too big compared to the presenter. It will almost be like the Broken News Correspondent in Space again.

Yeah, I agree with that. It looks far better when the LH presenter is talking to someone as they're farther away and hence smaller.

I have criticised Sky for having huge talking heads on their newswall with a tiny presenter stood in front! Looks ridiculous.

While it's not that bad in N6, they do need to work on the framing of their guests perhaps so they're not that big.

I guess what I'm asking is whether London or the News Channel is on the sustaining feed.

For the one and ten, it's the channel but for the six it's London.

Awful.

The trouble is with many sources, such as the Westminster CSO one above, and the locked-off regional newsroom cameras, I would imagine the framing is pretty much fixed.

Surely they can reduce the feed from Westminster to whatever size they want, whilst keeping the CSO background the same size.

But if the shot of Heseltine is just his head and shoulders, and assuming they can't zoom out significantly, wouldn't you end up with him either looking very small and low down in the picture, or else just a disembodied, small head and shoulders in the middle of a Westminster skyline.

Or have I totally misunderstood what you mean? Confused

No no, this was a face-to-face interview. Michael Heseltine actually is that large.

Why can't they just keep the image in the centre of the screen, without the white line. These things look far better without a border. Maybe a blurry drop-shadow behind.

I'm currently watching the coverage on the EU Referendum, and the BBC NC is doing very well. This isn't a presentation point, but does anyone else think it's slightly odd that we've had a response to the result from Brussels when the Irish haven't actually announced the official result yet.

BBC NC is running a "Breaking News" strap citing AP and Reuters saying the rsult is "No".

Is there a reason the Breaking News ticker has to loop continuously? In the previous (superior) graphics, "Breaking" used to appear but then was followed by "Headlines", "Sport" and "Interactive so was just inserted to the usual loop - far better that way I believe, particularly when they already have a strap displaying the Breaking News above.

The news channel has opted out of the 6... glad they are taking the ireland referendum seriously
