I feel honoured mine was the first viewer comment about the new look read out on the channel and I recorded it Smile

I did wonder whether that was one of us!

Overall impressions - similar to what others have said really...

Like the TOTH, especially the little graphical sting at the end of the Countdown. The titles look so much better on a TV screen than the video clips we've had so far. The studio's nice and shiny looking, although I'm not convinced it has the same 'buzz' as N8.

And the Astons are a real step back. Very plain, dull and dated looking.

Whoopsy! I mean the new BBC News music files. Laughing

I'll second that request, I'm finding it nigh-on impossible to download them.

Any chance someone could post my 10 seconds of fame up, as I dont have the ability to do so.

And a flash version of the TOTH would be nice - plus breaking news animations etc too if possible. Thanks in advance!

I'm already bored with the new set, it's too dark and gray, the newsroom is blurry and can't be seen. This is not good for a 24 hour news channel.

It just feels like they've gone for a lowest common denominator approach to the astons - they're designed to look the same at every newsroom up and down the country, regardless of the systems being used.

Given we've gone back to 1999 in style , you have to wonder why they've installed VizRT everywhere when almost everything on screen looks simple enough for much older (cheaper) systems.

It's very poor.

Arrow The straps look like they've been designed by a secondary school kid- suitable for Breakfast or a lunchtime bulletin but not flexible enough for a 24 hour operation.

Arrow Background- why "etch" graffiti onto the virtual background and then blur it? On the ridiculously tightly shot views (90% of the time) you might as well be presenting from a broomcupboard with CSO.

Arrow The screens- yep, still a very noticeable white gap slap bang in the middle of the two presenters at eye level...that's the kind of misfit you're meant to move out of the default shot.

Arrow If you're going to go for a screen based studio at least have the guts to use the screens- why not try changing the background for the top story. No, we'll just have hanging interviewees.

Presentation wise it's a huge step back for what was News 24. It's the straps in particular that annoy me, given they had such a fantastic set (including the ticker) yesterday that still would have fitted in with the new look. And that set had only been in existence for what, a couple of years? They didn't need changing.

Why not? people tune in for the news, not to have a gawp at what's happning in the background!

The old News 24 set was 5 years old this year, it was dated and tired as I said in my text to the channel that was read out. It's much better... come on.

I'm talking about the straps not the set.

Each to their own, but black on white with a bit of bold for the headline isn't (I think) a very sensible choice given what the competition are doing.
