They had some graphics problems that they haven't ironed out from when they were News 24 - putting the wrong thing on screen... come on for lemons sake.

Shìtè astons, lovely studio, bad headline bed, nice titles... mixed batch, but not good overall. Nice though that they've taken on Sky's old relaunch setup of having white on red for breaking news, always thought that was very effective myself.

Can someone link it here. I'm currently blocked off David Lowe's site by my college firewall. Thanks. Very Happy

The Good:
I love the titles. Clean - fresh and cool.

The Bad:
Grey + Red. What are we in the 80's again?
The studio is too dark. It looks too hidden away too! I realise a lot of things are just illusions, but if you look at Sky - they are in the news centre. Why are BBC now in a cupboard down the hall?

It feels like you're more likely to get breaking news on Sky quicker, as they are reporting directly from where the news comes in - but now BBC News looks much more remote.

What's with the background anyway? It looks like a creased bedsheet.

And I am appalled by the countdown. I have seen better things edited on Windows Movie Maker. How tacky!!

The countdown used to be the best part of watching BBC News 24 (I don't care - i'll be calling it that for at least a year) but just sticking a big box over the existing countdown and adding a huge poorly aligned clock next to it. When will they employ mdta or Lee. Any of their mocks look considerably better than what's on screen right now...

Is anyone else having trouble saying "BBC News"? I always referred to the channel as "News 24", so when I say it - I catch myself and end up saying "News" which sounds a bit stupid. And I agree - I refuse to say "Channel" too!

the studio does look vastly better now they've fixed the screens. hopefully they'll take TC7 down and sort out them too.#

The graphics. Erm. Well I rather like the ticker and the use of gill sans, the problem I have is the lack of detail. They're just too white and urgh, if they had a background on them they'd be better. I agree with the loss of the little things over the dog too.

Countdown, fab. Love the ending to it and the new headline bed really give the TOTH more impact. Why they can't have the thunderclaps built into the bed like they used to is beyond me however. Just write the headlines so they're five seconds, you've got the weather forecast to practice.

more importantly, why are there so many wierdos on the news today? That fat woman and her mortgage, the strange nazi hair lady with her blood clots and that mad bint on the tyxylix from the mortgage lenders council who was talking to declan this morning. eek.
