Not really pres related, but why's the masthead on their copy of the Daily Mail blue? Our copy at work is the usual black. Confused

I have no idea, but to me (a non-Mail reader, obviously) it looks like a supplement, rather than the front page.

So what will happen to the set then? Ebay?

I was wondering that. Storage or dump?

I noticed that on last night's broadcast too. It is actually the front page rather than a supplement. AFAIK the masthead hasn't been printed in blue today, perhaps it's just a reflection of the lights on that part of the paper against the very glossy print.

Perhaps its the colour that denotes its a pre-print proof.

No amount of light makes black printer ink (or toner) look blue, so it must have been originated that way.

The newspaper first editions are often electronically sent and printed out by the BBC- I suspect it's more an issue with the toner levels in the BBC printer.

I remember it being mentioned before - the whole front page used to have a blue tint - but the headline on that shot is still black.

Maybe it's very very very very very very very dark blue.

Very funny cock up there due to a delayed 10 on the News Channel.

First of all, Philip Averys Weather System crashes, leaving him frustrated. As seen with Jay Wynne a few weeks back.

We then got about 2 mins worth of adverts, before the 90 Second extended countdown, more of a breakfiller, as it had no numbers counted down until it was faded out ready to go live on BBC One after the football. I guess it had no numbers so it can be run whenever its needed for filling time. It was nice to hear the extended mix in use though.

Is it me or are we seeing more and more technical and presentation hick ups on the BBC News Channel than ever before.

Mic's not being up, talkback problems with different studios (the weather one), wrong graphics captions on screen and presenters constantly going to the wrong cameras as well as reports and footage not playing.

Might just be me, but when it was News 24 it wasn't half as bad.

If you observe Sky News, they can pull of a days programming without a scratch but the BBC News Channel seem to make a lot of silly mistakes.

Although I do have to say I was very impressed with the recent by-election coverage that the BBC NC did compared to... urrrm nothing, which is what Sky did.

Nice use of the alternative countdown earlier (alternative mix with no numbers), what with the football overrunning by a couple of minutes.

EDIT: whoops - greg beat me to it earlier! Surprised

Must say I like the use of the Newspapers headlines being filmed by a camera off the desk's top (rather than Chris holding them up), you see all the pen and ink marks on that brand new desk!

Still the same tonight, it's just the toner in their printer which needs replacing. It showing up more on the other papers tonight.
