The mini desk was seen in the opening wideshot of tonights evening news.

The only thing I would prefer from it is that the wiring in that you can see in the picture would be less visible and something done to accomodate mask the printer more. Though it is less obvious than in the old News 24 studio. That is more about overall design of the set than the desk alone.

Well I liked the older one, it was nicely designed, well lit (a desk which actually looks as it was lit!), this one is bland in comparison to the old one, the Arabic one is pretty good, I would have preferred something like that but rounded.

Just to try and clear up what I think is a bit of mis-communication here, the people that are complaining that the desk isn't "lit" are (I think) referring to the fact that apart from the red panel at the front, the new desk is not internally lit like the old one was, with its white neon(?) glowing edges. They aren't, as some people seem to be thinking, saying that the presenter and the set aren't lit...
