I'm really not impressed. The 2007 graphics were much superior. I'm unhappy that it seems it's the end of the little graphics which used to appear above the DOG (saying such things as BREAKING NEWS and COMING UP, or showing an image of a mobile etc.)
I'm a bit confused why they've reverted back to Gill Sans - looks very dated. Countdown is a bit messy with the graphics but I do like the end.
Thunderclaps on News 24*?!

Oh! Those graphics are dreadful. They're intrusive and plain ugly. The previous set of graphics were far nicer and more stylish. These look amateur. I find the studio a bit heavy on the eyes.
It does seem strange that they've lost all the little details from the previous refresh such as the glossy backgrounds, inserts above the DOG, sheen on the breaking news strap etc, and gone back to just plain backgrounds.
I also preferred the way the old DOG/ticker crossed the whole screen, the new one stops at the DOG.

That's the only real 'step backwards' in my opinion, but it's by far the biggest mistake. The titles and set are ace, with plenty of detail, so why go back to flat colour for lower third graphics? Gill Sans isn't the problem, it's the way it's been used that is painfully dull to look at.
I'm all for having a clean and uncluttered look, but this is as if they've seen the direction Sky News are taking and decided to run a mile in the opposite direction, a complete overreaction.
Not a fan of this at all. Dull and dead are two words I'd use to describe it. The studio is cold, lacks the feel of a 24 hour news environment. Awful IMO.
