Very fond farewell to N8 from Gavin Grey there, with a brief history of the studio!

And slightly inaccurate it was too. He said N8 was built for News 24 in 1999 - actually it opened in 1998. Tut tut!

No fancy shots or music but a nice history of the studio. Crying or Very sad

Well, that was more than we expected indeed.

But what happens if the 10:30 'Ten' isn't able to start on time now on BBC1? Would Gavin have to come back in N8 after all having just said goodbye to it?

Maybe they'll put N9 on the air and give that a farewell too. Wink Wishful thinking though!

Wonder if they will show off the new graphics this weekend

Newswatch talking about Monday's move with BBC News Channel controller, Sam Taylor.

I notice at the start of the piece, they have a viewer's comment about the current studio - with a picture of Tim Willcox in N8 - which seems a little odd.

'You'll see presenters standing up a bit more and out and about around the building'. Smile

Plus we get about a second look at the new studio before it wipes into the email graphics - this is the best paused shot I could get.

This is N8's third farewell but the difference of this is that this is the real farewell because you won't see new footage of it anymore on any of BBC's platforms.

The first and second farewell:

Shame N9 isnt getting a goodbye as it was the original home for BBC News 24 although I guess then we'd have to say goodbye to N1 and N2 and of course theres nothing there.
