I don't see why everyones saying it looks darker... to me a regular WN viewer, it doesn't look any darker than normal. Confused

The only difference is the monitors aren't on which makes the backdrop look a bit lifeless, but for half an hour a day, could we not just put up with it until next week?

The other lights aren't on either just take a look at some shots from the past.

Yeah, it was bright when it was used by BBC World News then.

Spray painted in HD makeup but its still going out in SD whats the point lol. still think that live backdrop is a tad too dark but its much better then N6 which looks like a lot of worn out barcos.

It's not going out at all. It is a live technical rehearsal, testing all aspects of the broadcast without it actually being transmitted...

The studio, indeed, is Studio C's twin studio... except that it has a newsroom background.

The animation is not the same length.
It's considerably shorter.
The music has been re-worked by David, to make it work to the storyboard.
The overall duration of 'the titles' has increased by 2 seconds only.

You're right, the globe animations are slightly shorter. I think the botched reworking of the music made it all seem longer than it was. The way they've dodgily looped the start of the music still sounds rubbish. It almost sounds like it's out by a beat. I thought it was a test version but presumably by today they'd be using the proper version reworked by David.

In happier news I haven't seen the "awkwardly framed 2 shot from the side favouring the monitor" today, and the shot with 2 presenters, from the front, looks quite nice. They don't look cramped.

They have got this thing now where they arbitrarily go to the newsroom camera on wheels before the weather. But I guess it's nice to show off.
