There is some strange stuff going on tonight. Just went straight into the sport with no link in N8.

The same happened at 6:30pm. They should have at least played the sport titles or news sting before starting the bulletin though. It seemed quite messy suddenly going to the sport from a trailer.

And now Chris Eakin in N8. Obviously ran.

Extremely poorly lit... but what do we expect lol.

Not that it matters, better to save money than power up loads of lights for a short broadcast. To think, we're just a few days away from never seeing N8 again! It will definitely be more missed than N6 - who can prefer a grey box with a poor quality virtual backdrop? Personally, can't wait to see the back of N6, it's been a long time coming!

Definitely a case of 'Chris, you're the last one out - can you turn the lights off please!'... Reminds me of the empty newsroom behind the Ten O'clock news presenters in the early 90s.

I wouldn't say the new music was a 'pigs ear' but it does feel a little awkward with the re-cut visuals I think, but that is just down to personal opinion. Wait and see what you think next week.

Hang on a moment, is that one with the extra drums the final version? I thought that was just a hasty cut and paste for the pilots. In which case I'd say more "car crashing into a pigs ear", which if nothing else would explain some of the camera movements.

Here here yeah bbc news viewers have had to put up with that virtual backdrop in n6 for a long time it's time to move on and into the nbh era.

Ten O'Clock? Early 90s? You sure your memory is OK?

It probably isn't - I'm showing my age.

Anyway, something I've knocked up - a tribute to the countdowns from TV Centre (not a brilliant piece of work as it was knocked up in 10mins). I think I included all the countdown 'styles' except the World cup ones - although was done from memory.

What countdown track did you use in that video?

One that I found on a Youtube video - I think it was an unused one.

BBC News director Ross Fitzpatrick gave the opportunity to one TV Forum member to have their question answered honestly. I took up that opportunity with much anticipation.

I'm glad all speculation can now be put to bed.

Something tells me that the new pope being chosen on the day N24 relaunches is a real possibility. What do you think that would do to what N24 has planned during the day in case that actually materialises?

The headlines strap has been stuck on screen with "FALKLANDS REFERENDUM" for the past few minutes - it's just disappeared. It appears that no straps are now appearing on the News Channel now.
