Gotta have proof to back up your claims...

There are obvious reasons I'm not going to post pictures or videos of the relaunch here.

I'm sure somebody else who has seen the pilots can confirm that they've made a pig's ear of the opening music.

Ill believe it if thegeek says the same thing!

He is right with the opening titles... but the music isn't that bad - it has been re-made to cater for the new opening.

Has that new music been used in the pilots yet or is the version in the pilots a dodgy cut-and-paste job made in-house for testing purposes?

Just to clarify - yes the titles graphics are shorter, but music is same length to cover newsroom and studio camera pan. I wouldn't say the new music was a 'pigs ear' but it does feel a little awkward with the re-cut visuals I think, but that is just down to personal opinion. Wait and see what you think next week.

As has been mentioned then, the revised TOTH sequence will go something like this then?

Countdown > Presenter in shot 'This is BBC News, the headlines at XX' > Clips/astons/coming up > Titles > Newsroom pan > Wide studio shot > Presenter standing up by the video wall.

I'd much rather they said 'It's 3 O'clock, these are the headlines from BBC News' - but I doubt it will change from the former (I think they used to say that during the News 24 period).

With the reference that was made a few pages back about the view from the new studio looking a bit like the 2003 National News fake backdrop. I might be mistaken on this but ISTR that the backdrop was actually modeled on how the new BBC News Centre would look. I seem to remember several comments at the time about how we would all get bored of the look before the new news centre was built but of course this was when it was meant to be moving in 2009 time.

Now I seem to recall the modified 2005 version was supposed to be what NBH would look like rather than the 2003 version.

Interesting opt out of the Six just then. It went from George ending the bulletin into a trailer, then went straight to Sportsday, with no news summary from the NC presenter.
