They will most probably be leased and go back to the lasing company for disposal, and some may be bought for in-house repairs and parts.

The questions now that we know when the move are: what time will the move take place and who will do the honour of being the last presenter from N6 (and perhaps N8 on Friday) as well as the first from studio E. As for the former, WN did not commence operations from NBH until 12.00 UK time.

I would assume the last presenter from N6 will be the NC presenter on Sunday 17th March who will present the headlines summary at 00:30 UK time, and the first broadcast from Studio E will be at 08:30 when the NC starts broadcasting.

My prediction is that no fanfare will happen after the 21.30 half hour where N24 uses N8. Sad even if WN bid farewell to N8 twice; it's different if N24 does so. I doubt there will be much fanfare at 00.30 on Sunday as well after the last headlines are read. This was also the same case I guess when Karin performed the last N24 bulletin from N8 before the channel was rebranded.

It's hardly the same though, moving to a studio a few corridors away and leaving a building which has been the home of BBC News for decades. I really hope they just think bugger the tabloids and do a tribute to TVC. This could be potentially the last live broadcast before it closes for refurbishment too...

Every time I watch it there's only one angle when they are in n8 does that mean the set is getting dismantled, I remember they still had their second set when Naga signed off from N8.

The set is still fully intact but when the wide shot is used to hand to the business presenter the newsroom behind is lifeless & all the computers are off making it look darker. It's only the plasma screens on the back wall that are on but they not showing very much.

Aah thanks for that, its sad to see really but inevitable and what will they do with those switched off pcs?

Recycle them, most likely.

Remember Breakfast got a send off of sorts, when it broadcasted from TC7 for the final time before moving to Salford, same as Newsnight when that moved to NBH.I expect something on the News channel, even if it's the presenter walking out the studio and the Barcos being switched off in-vision.

I'm pretty sure they'll make some reference on the Six next Friday as apart from the Eight it'll be the last program ever from TC7 before it gets demolished.

Its Comic Relief aint it, next Friday?

So the Six would be the last one.

If this is the case it will be interesting to see N24 share studio C with WN.

World News are in Studio B from 1200 to 1800 (or is it 1900) UKT so Studio C isn't been used and is free for the News channel to use by themselves if they want, however if the breakaway from the 1 or 6 is for a major international story I would imagine that it would be whoever is on World who will anchor similcast coverage.

If the twitter pic is correct, Huw's hour will be from Studio C. In other words, that is no longer exclusively for WN.

Little correction here.

Here's a bit more info from @stuart_earl:

@MattWebb1987 @m_in_m glad to hear it. Temper expectations - def a 'functional' trail compared to high-gloss "World Newsroom" affair.

And this, the highlight for me so far (among everything else):

@stuart_earl @m_in_m Looking forward to it. One question - will the presenters on NC be doing some stand up presentation after 18th?

@MattWebb1987 @m_in_m they will indeed.

It's been a long time coming for you Worzel! Now those endless "I wish they did stand up pres on the NC" can finally end! Although, I agree with you. It will add so much more dimensions to the NC.

It's going to be very weird going from the empty grey box to the amazing busy new studio next week! What a change in quality for the BBC!
