Some interesting things to see in this photo: https://twitter.com/chrisckmedia/status/309974484532748289/photo/1

1300 BBC NEWS AT ONE BBC1
1300 NEWS CHANNEL IN C BREAK OUT ONE
1330 NEWS CHANNEL

1700 NEWS CHANNEL IN C
1730 NEWS CHANNEL IN C
1800 BBC NEWS AT SIX BBC1
1800 NEWS CHANNEL IN A BREAK OUT SIX

2100-2200 doesn't have anything.

Good that the News channel will easily be able to opt out of the 1 and the 6.

What do the phrases "news channel in C break out one" and "break one six" mean?

I assume this means that if the News channel need to opt out of the 1 they can use studio c, and if they need to opt out of the 6, they can use studio A.

If this is the case it will be interesting to see N24 share studio C with WN. But it is hard to see why 'nationals' are appropriate for a live actual newsroom backdrop (as opposed to virtual-abstract one) hence I feel 'nationals' are more appropriate for C.

Another weird thing is we know that the back half of the 21.00 hour comes from N8 in order for the 'nationals' to prepare at N6. In the absence of additional comments, we can only assume continuity at studio E between the two.

I don't quite understand what you mean in your second paragraph but what we have heard is the whole 21:00 hour will be from A.

I don't know... but it could be an emergency running order if the Channel has to move up to Salford? It might be being tested alongside today's pilots?

It's rather more mundane I'm afraid - it's a running order which converts the Mosart instructions in BBC Breakfast's running order pages to those suitable for use in the News channel studio. Different studios, different instructions you see.

Every time I watch it there's only one angle when they are in n8 does that mean the set is getting dismantled, I remember they still had their second set when Naga signed off from N8.

The set is still fully intact but when the wide shot is used to hand to the business presenter the newsroom behind is lifeless & all the computers are off making it look darker. It's only the plasma screens on the back wall that are on but they not showing very much.

The questions now that we know when the move are: what time will the move take place and who will do the honour of being the last presenter from N6 (and perhaps N8 on Friday) as well as the first from studio E. As for the former, WN did not commence operations from NBH until 12.00 UK time.

I would assume the last presenter from N6 will be the NC presenter on Sunday 17th March who will present the headlines summary at 00:30 UK time, and the first broadcast from Studio E will be at 08:30 when the NC starts broadcasting.

I would say 08:30 on Monday 18th is when it will start at NBH as it's a natural junction point. Failing that it would either be at 11:00 when BBC Two joins in or maybe even the BBC News at one could be the launch show (but this would be difficult for the NC presenters being mid shift).

My prediction is that no fanfare will happen after the 21.30 half hour where N24 uses N8. Sad even if WN bid farewell to N8 twice; it's different if N24 does so. I doubt there will be much fanfare at 00.30 on Sunday as well after the last headlines are read. This was also the same case I guess when Karin performed the last N24 bulletin from N8 before the channel was rebranded.

As for the dark backdrop, wouldn't it have been nice if they transferred along to NBH? I mean 1 PC in that backdrop is I believe equivalent to the cost of 3 licence fees. I know the viewing public have become more critical of how their licence fee is spent in recent times.

World News are in Studio B from 1200 to 1800 (or is it 1900) UKT so Studio C isn't been used and is free for the News channel to use by themselves if they want, however if the breakaway from the 1 or 6 is for a major international story I would imagine that it would be whoever is on World who will anchor similcast coverage.

I have a feeling that this will be done after Breakfast or The World Today, so that they can at least transition smoothly from TVC Gallery (or TOC) to NBH Gallery... have they solved that problem yet, especially they don't use Red Bee's facilities like BBC WN?
