Seems like the News Channel will be taking BBC Midlands Today at 18:30 instead of Sportsday.

Huw said it would be shown at 23.30 on the NC.

The NC headline during the 6 was not its usual sport headline but a further news headline advertising that the NC will be taking Midlands Today at 18:30 for a news special.

There is a special Midlands Today programme also airing tonight on BBC One at 22.35.

Was it a straight cut like BBC One does from the Six normally, or did the NC do anything first before joining MT?

NC had a headline summary first then joined MT with Mary Rhodes stood outside Stafford Hospital

And at 18:52 the NC has pulled away back to Ben in N6 interviewing someone in the Central London CSO studio.

NC opted back to Ben Brown before MT joined Shefali for the weather.

When will BBC News channel get the new graphics, surely BBC World News can just supply a copy of their graphics software?

Why implement software changes at TVC that would at best only affect a small proportion of NC viewers for two or three months? If there were going to be two different sets of graphics for an extended period (many months, if not years) that might be different, but as things are it wouldn't make sense to over-complicate it.

Three months is too much for TV Forum's high level of presentation expectation Wink

Not very exciting, but we were treated to a nice wide-overhead shot tonight, which gave us a nice view of the BBC Breakfast mousemats.

Ever wondered... 'What do they have printed on them'... Wink

Noticed Maxine Mawhinney mentioning the 18th March on Twitter this afternoon as a date when news bulletins will go HD.

Is that just the national bulletins or the NC too? I wasn't aware the NC was going HD yet, and I guess Maxine would be in HD when she does Saturday morning bulletins simulcast on BBC One?

I remember from a Powerpoint presentation found by someone on the forum a few weeks back, we were given the following information:

March – Main TV Bulletins – 1, 6 , 10
Mid March – News Channel

Though that's not to say the NC will begin transmitting in HD in March, which I think was what a516 was alluding to.

In terms of the above date, I wonder if that means the network bulletins won't go HD until the 18th, or if they've pushed the move back by a couple of weeks?
