Is it me or have they been playing around with some of the images in the countdowns? No actual new countdowns to speak of, just some of the images appear to be in a different order and overlapping with each other.

EDIT: I see what they've done - they've removed departing correspondent James Pearce from them.

About time too! That clip of him at Wembley was when it reopened many, many, many years ago!

The whole lot should be getting an overhaul very soon anyway, and if World is anything to go by it should look pretty cool.

If the new countdowns on the News Channel look or sound anything like the ones on World when they go to NBH, we can guarantee they'll be nothing short of magnificent.

The World ones sound almost exactly the same as the current News Channel/old World countdowns. Slight tweaks at most. Also bizarre how it ends in the gallery rather than the news room.

What I'd like to see for the NC countdown is a shot of the data streams at a lot lower level zooming up Regent St towards and round All Soul's, across the World Plaza then through the main doors, rather than the high level shot we have on World.

The chord sequences have been pretty much the same since 2005.

When will BBC News channel get the new graphics, surely BBC World News can just supply a copy of their graphics software?

Why implement software changes at TVC that would at best only affect a small proportion of NC viewers for two or three months? If there were going to be two different sets of graphics for an extended period (many months, if not years) that might be different, but as things are it wouldn't make sense to over-complicate it.

That's really stretching it. As chris said, the chord progression is the same, but there are significant changes.

Seems like the News Channel will be taking BBC Midlands Today at 18:30 instead of Sportsday.

Huw said it would be shown at 23.30 on the NC.
