Did LN really come up with the Anglia A - it's shockingly boring!

Though remember it was introduced in the late-80s - and was pretty innovative for that moment. It replaced the dodgy 16mm stuff of the Angila Knight on the turntable - and felt massively more modern. (Though arguably less iconic)

The thing about the Anglia A flag is that it - in terms of an 80s ident - it stood the test of time pretty well. I particularly liked the music with it - which also lasted pretty well.

I think the slate background was part of this - most of the other CGI/Composited idents looked very artificial.

Just noticed that when you select digital text (on Freeview anyway) the video window still is labelled as 'BBC News 24'.

Did anyone hear what David Dimbleby said at the end of Question Time yesterday?

"You can watch this programme again on BBC News 24".

Will tonight be the first test of how a rolling news channel has to also be a national round up?

The London Mayor results are expected at 10pm. Will they go live for the results, get reaction etc or will the national news tell us its been one year since that McCann girl went missing.

Jon Sopel is providing a hilarious commentary on the roof of City Hall tonight where the London Mayoral results are about to be announced with the various hick ups, 'service announcements' from the City Hall staff to the media being mistaken for the announcement of the results, and the number of lifts that have been devoted to the media in comparison to the number for other "...more important people" as Sopel put it.Great coverage from the channel tonight.

It is really good, BBC have really put alot of effort into tonights coverage, with correspondents and MPs there to give comment, where as Sky have resorted to reshowing the speeches.

The BBC really have excelled themselves during the whole election, to be honest. BBC News has been very watchable all day today. The on-location presenting has definitely added to the coverage - this is the circumstance in which it should be used; not for every other news story. Added to this has been excellent commentaries from the presenters/correspondents and being there for all the key moments, not missing things as they have done on a few occasions recently. Well done to the BBC.

I agree with you completely, I'm glad I watched news channel rather than any other today, it's been very interesting.

Did anybody here asked if BBC NewsWatch read some post on some forums, especially TV Forum?
One answer... NO.

I Email them last week and they said something like this...

"We asked people for their responses and those were what we read out.
It's not our role to trawl the internet looking for comments - I did
read the points on the Editors Blog, [but they all seemed rather too
technical for our audience
(likewise TV Forum).

Best wishes,
