Don't SKY News uses Virtz to generate its Live bug?

Because you need one without the LIVE bug for playback later.

But the VizRT graphics are added live, so they wouldn't be there when they playback later.

You aren't reading what I said properly.

The LIVE and Location cut on and off as the director/vision mixer cuts between the studio and the OB - but the VizRT ticker/clock/dog and name supers are on-screen all the time. Therefore the Live and Location have to be from a separate graphic source to be able to do this. It could be a VizRT engine - but that is a very expensive and wasteful sledgehammer to crack a nut.

Ah, OK. Thanks. Would still be nice if they used a nutcracker to crack it though rather than a screwdriver. Just something that would make the red bit and black bit line up.

EDIT: And anyway, they didn't used to cut on and off - often they appeared after the OB came on screen or were still on screen when it cut back to the studio. How do you explain that?

notice you can see masking tape all over the place even on that photo. I think it shows well how its just a bit of office converted what with the office celing and the strip lights turned off.

That desk is much better then the current one, nice lighting too, the current one is awful in comparison.

They don't record a clean feed.

They always used to (think it was a looped recording) don't see why they shouldn't now, it's a pretty basic and standard thing to do

Suspect the entirely clean feed was recorded (which is also recorded in case the OB says something that is to be used in a VT) - it may be that they shifted to just recording one version on one of their two systems (News 24 had both the early Omnibus production system AND the more recent Jupiter/Quantel system running in tandem until quite recently)

Because they charged half a million pounds for basically 2 sets of titles which mdta recreated perfectly within a day for nothing.

I don't think Lambie Nairn got all of the £500,000 of the revamp money, but if he did then Shocked

I think £500,000 was the total for the revamp, wasn't it? If so, some of that would have gone to David Lowe and for paying for equipment upgrades at the BBC, presumably?

Yup it's just the Quantel driven Jupiter system now - it records two feeds, one clean and one with bugs and astons (not the ticker or logo).

Recreated (far from perfectly) is easy once someone has come up with the original idea, think of it like tracing, a cheat way to draw...

You're sooo modest!

Did LN really come up with the Anglia A - it's shockingly boring!
