Not wrong there... But he's chatting on Sky News about him at the moment!
A famous music personality has died. Cue Paul Gambaccini.

That was lucky the press conference finished on time.
No opting out of the Six!
By the way, why dont they ever stick a caption in these instances saying the Six is on BBC ONE?
(Then again does anyone actually watch the One, Six or Ten on the NC, or switch over to BBC ONE, as its followed by the local news?)

How many people do we think actually watch news conferences?
I think many people would switch to watch the full bulletin just to find out whats going on in the rest of the world that's not a room that should be full of journalists, but theyre too lazy to do their job so they just send a cameraman.
Just tell us the good bits later... when its finished.

Someone was in a bit of a desperate rush to get the breaking news out today, as the ticker has been through a few rapid edits:
A murder investigation has been opened to find those responsible for the death of Kyle Sheehan who was stabbed to death last week in...
A murder investigation is underway following the death of 16 year old Kyle Sheehan was stabbed to death last week in...
A murder investigation is underway following the death today of 16 year old Kyle Sheehan was stabbed to death last week in...
(might be slightly paraphrased, but the point is that the original version was pretty ambiguous about the timeline, and it took two or three edits to get it right)
It's a shame they think we're so obsessed with getting the news right now that they can't afford to spend a bit of time thinking about what they write!
Also, being objective and not to sound unsympathetic, but is it such a huge story that it should be the only thing on the ticker right now? They haven't seen fit to put it in the headlines, after all.
