BBC News Channel: Presentation

SVRS, I actually made a flash file mocking up an RSS over the countdown - sadly it was lost in my hard drive crash, otherwise I'd release it - it was far from finished when the crash happened and now other things occupy my time!

Nice thinking, it wasn't over a countdown sorry! It was over a backdrop I made on a loop *finds an old test render*

Issue was the RSS was full of "full story at...."

Whoops.

Red button features condensed versions of news stories, I would assume if the copy is written then its not too difficult to create a completely unique RSS feed just for the filler/countdown that does not feature the "full story at..."

I am of two minds about the Werld Nyooz filler... as on some occasions it seems as if the news elements are automatically filled in, yet on other occasions it seems like they have been specifically created for the filler. (In reality its probably the latter) This would not work if it had to be labour intensive like the ticker. It would have to be a completely automated feed, if that makes sense.
