Was it that difficult that you had to use an abbreviation
On topic - despite the countdown I'm kind of disappointed that the News Channel haven't pulled out some BBC World-esque special titles for the occasion. Not to mention that I'm thoroughly bored of the current ones and have been since the week after they introduced them, but it is a really special, once-in-a-lifetime event for London.

Poor Laura, had the Countdown music played during her weather report!
This has happened several times if it's close to TOTH, say 3 or 4 seconds the music will start to play at near the end of the weather.
I think it seems pretty slick in my opinion, but i'm sure that I will be in the minority!
I agree with you, very slick indeed. I'm a fan of a big countdown as well but think that way is very slick.
It seemed alright, but you couldn't really work out what she was saying, poor girl, it wenton fo about 10-15 seconds before the end of her weather report, I think that the weather is shown too many times, is it really necessary for the weather to be shown at the half past too?

Might surprise you but weather forecasts are one of the most popular bits of news output... (Backed up by quite significant audience research)

I agree. People should only tune in for the weather at 10am, 4.30pm and 11pm.
My comment to Worzel last night is also applicable to you.
On the subject of fading the countdown music up over the end of the weather I've always loved it as it does really help make the channel snappier and slicker. Long may it continue.

Yes, I agree. In fact, I remember they had a spell of doing that back with the original 1999 News 24 countdown music, but I haven't seen/heard it happen for years now.
