A shame they didn't keep put off the World simulcast for a bit, the problem now is that they can only show stills of the Opening Ceremony for the first half hour because there's no rights to the footage on BBC World
Robert Hall doing a live back to the studio from Oxford Circus tube station, standing on the platform to the amazement of Ben Brown. Is this a first on the News channel?
Ben Brown said it was a broadcasting first, but I do believe Sky News did something similar last Friday.
One small thing about the desk in the NC Olympic studio, the grey-top trim is definitely made of metal as Ben Brown just seemed to clout his knee on it and you could hear it was a metal trim.

Sky did a live from a Jubilee line train once it was overground with Ian Woods. The NC live was probably done using the new free wi-fi connection that has been installed across tube stations in time for the Olympics.
