Does anyone else think they should have put a plasma screen in the studio on the right of the desk? Sometimes there's not much variation in presentation with just the Olympic backdrop. All of the interviews out of the studio are also using split-screen which I'm not a huge fan of.

That would probably have made life a lot more difficult in routing terms - as you'd then need a reverse vision from TV Centre to Stratford to feed it I guess? I'm assuming that the bulk of the gallery operation is still at TVC from a News gallery (at least until Thursday when the bulletins go HD using a TV Centre HD gallery as a hub - where I'd expect a TVC News gallery still to be used as a "VT" operation) - so any in-vision screens at Stratford would need to be fed from TVC?

There's a fair number of reverse visions (although not enough - the news folks keep on inventing new uses for them!) - but there's also a few small galleries on site too.

So it's technically possible - but I'm not sure you'd have a lot of space for a plasma screen in the glass box. And I doubt they want any more heat sources in there either! Smile

Will you stop posting pointless caps that add nothing to the conversation... we all know what a television screen looks like.

The Studio is N9.

It's quite interesting watching the signing on the news channel, especially when the presenter or guest trips up on their words and the signer seem a little dumbfounded!

I notice at 1, the signer stays on screen during the titles. He/she should give us a bit of a jig when the music plays. Wink

Whoops, someone forgot to edit Nick Ravenscroft's report so he redid his last line to camera again, after he 'croaked'... To the amusement of Matthew and Ben! I'll get a grab of it shortly...

That would be the extremely fancy touch screen in N9's secondary set.

I was told that touch screen is so heavy they had to reinforce part of the floor of the studio and can only move it about a foot in any direction.

So no. That would not be fine.
