I didn't realise you were party to his lens prescription.
Plus the autocue has big white writing on it that is bold and stands out whereas the clock hands are quite thin, even I can tell the autocue is far easier to read.

Course if they'd invested in one of those massive ikea clocks it might have been a better idea.

You'd think a digital clock would make more sense than one with hands.

Although I'm sure there are a few of those around - and the presenters would always have the clock on their ENPS screens on their laptops.

Also how to prevent shadows of guests/presenters sitting at the edge of the desk from showing in the projection area?

No, the screens where back projected - and the projectors a lot bigger than that!

i want to add something on the first photo...
who's sleeping on the N8 newsroom at that time?

There's a small fan and what the heck happened to the back side of the chair?

The chair backs fold down so that they can be hidden from view when there is no one sitting in them, so they don't have to be moved off the set.

For 9 years (ok it's had a few different looks) this place was the home of one of the best News Channels around. Now we have lost it Sad

Whats going to be done with it now does anyone know? Not the set but lighting rig (if you can call it that) cameras, autocue hoods etc. Logic says they would reuse it but as most of its been on 24/7 for 4 years I doubt its in the best of nick.

And to think how we all awed over these press photos...

Still do think they look really good.

I like what they've got now too though. A change is a good thing. All they need to do is to sort out the crack between the presenters and pipe in a bit of low level newsroom audio, phones ringing etc.

Hopefully they'll start playing a bit more too on the News Channel - walking over from the desk to the walls, putting more images on the walls, having a few more camera angles (that one at the start from the left is getting boring - can't we have a sweeping shot from overhead?). This will come though when they get comfortable with it.

notice you can see masking tape all over the place even on that photo. I think it shows well how its just a bit of office converted what with the office celing and the strip lights turned off.
