For the NC and any other programmes, have to worked out a way so they don't have to fling out a broadcast for a other to rehearse?

Well apparently all the News Channel and News at 1, 6 and 10 will come from the same studio, Studio E. So not quite sure what that means?? No in studio rehearsals!?!?

Potentially having Studio C free from 12pm to 6.30pm, the News at 1 and 6 could be broadcast from there but I understand they want to maintain the look of he News Channel and News at 1, 6 and 10 and keep it consistent.

So realistically from what I've seen of the studios they would all have to come from Studio E which is extremely unique having a backdrop to the newsroom.

Although they now have Studio A which is a complete green screen, virtual studio. Though I doubt or sincerely hope they don't use that!

Currently at TVC I don't see why they can't rehearse all network bullitens in TC7 (well not NOW, as they want to hand it back) then do the bulliten in N6?

All the presenters have to remember is that the wal behind them is shorter and the wall to their left isn't as far away, surely that could be done at BH?

Oh perhaps they could rehearse in the car park? All they have to remember is they'll not be in the car park.

No... TC7 is basically N6 except doubled sideway more or less..yeah? So why shove the NC out for rehearsals when they have a 'close duplicate'?

Remember, they know what they are doing and I'm sure it'll all planned and thought through very carefully. A young'un on a internet forum isn't going to make them think 'God, we were so stupid!'

I'm no expert - but there's camera crew, lighting, running times, scripts, and I imagine lots more to get prepared. It's more convenient to do that in the studio they are using, ahead of time.

TC7 would also need to be set up just to do rehearsals with a completely different set-up, and then there would be less time to get to studio N6 elsewhere in the building.

I'm sure there are plenty of other reasons too - that's just a few things that spring to mind.

What about utilising Huw Edwards' capacious Range Rover (R1)? Rachel Schofield could sit in the passenger's seat whilst Kate Silverton prepares to take the wheel.

Absolutely correct.

It's not just about the presenter. All the crew need to prepare... set up OB links, sound checks, lighting checks, camera checks, rehearsing complex sequences, the list is practically endless. To be honest, I find it amazing that the BBC News team can get everything set up in just 30 minutes. I know at ITN the crews are often in the control room longer than that in order to set up for one of the flagships. Then of course, the presenter also has to rehearse headlines, links, camera angles, etc. There's much more to it than you'd think. It's not like preparing to give a school presentation Rolling Eyes

I always thought that the studios were going to be 'bases' for the channels, but won't necessarily be glued here all the time. If the news channel is just going to use Studio E and nothing else, that seems a bit of a waste!

Remember the Overnights will be coming from BBC World News, and the various programmes that break up the schedule will be coming from Studios B and C, also Studio E will now have two "modes" for presentation, the Screens backdrop, and from the desk.

Will it be on some sort of rotator then, much like Sky News?

Also, will the news channel be broadcasting from a special studio during the Olympics, much like World News?
