He looks like he's singing an aria.

That's what he does on the News Channel every Saturday before Dateline London. It helps Gavin Esler concentrate, apparently.

Tim standing up for some of the news earlier just before Dateline London, must say it looks a lot better than using the tight shot to try and 'hide' the presenter standing.

I really don't get why they try to hide the fact that the presenter is standing. It's not like people (even on this forum) are going to care. And, as you say, the tight shot is awful.

Why is the tight shot awful? To the average viewer it looks the same as the desk position, and that's the idea.

LOL. And which one is Tim?? Don't say Delilah!!

And, he most certainly does not rouse my heart. Sigh. Now, Errol Barnett or Ricky Boleto, that's another matter.....

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but he is Delilah. Tim's "Verse-moi, verse-moi l'ivresse!" gets more poignant week by week.

About the move to Broadcasting House, I think it would be best if they moved the news Channel to celebrate its fifteenth 'birthday' in November. Does anyone agree?

I think it would be best if they moved when the facilities and infrastructure are ready.

They did nothing for their 10th anniversary, not even a mention on air. So why would they for the 15th?

Aren't they ready yet, if not why have they already set up the Studio?

I would assume its probably because BBC World News may be using Studio E for some of its programmes before Domestic move in.

It's a bit too tight IMHO, but it is not a problem as such.

Rehearsing, testing, practicing with new systems, working out how they want to use the studio, and so on. The set in the studio is a pretty minor part in the whole set up, so it could even be so that they've got somewhere to take their press photos, or so that when people start using the newsroom proper, there isn't a load of set builders wandering around and dragging sawdust through the new carpet.

World are moving in before the News Channel and will be there to iron out the problems that will be found with the new studios, newsroom and technology. The News Channel won't move until they're happy they're not going to fall off air at the first sign of breaking news. (I would presume that if World falls over during the transition period, NC would cover for them - anyone in the know?)
