Been noticing that for a long time - a lot of the time at weekends and occasionally during weekdays, they use a different version of the backdrop in N6 that has a blue tint and is more frosted. Makes me wonder, why is it an option in the first place and why don't they stick to one of them? There's also a night version of the backdrop but it's very rarely used.

I could be wrong but I seem to recall they have summer & winter versions of the backdrops.

I've mentioned this many times.

The fully grey backdrop was the one that was used when they first moved to N6 and were using the old Barco's. These were the ones that didn't autocorrect and used to cause them to all have mismatched brightness and colour levels.

When the BARCO's were replaced with the self correcting ones (that adjust themselves so they remain pretty much equal to one another), they rejigged the backdrop, adding a bit of blue etc as the new screens kept a better colour balance.

However, they seemed to sacrifice the views of the lifts going up and down as you don't seem to see them in the bluer one more frequently.

In the pictures on the post on the previous page. Pics 2 and 4 should be the ones that are supposed to be used. Pics 1 and 3 are the old ones which shouldn't.

Worzel, I don't mean to be rude when I say the following - its just that you keep repeating the same grammatical errors and some may think less of you because of them, which wouldn't be at all nice for you.

There is no apostrophe needed when you are referring to multiple Barco projection cubes. Apostrophes are used to indicate the possessive - i.e. belonging to. Using an S to show the plural of an object does not require one.

The word Barco is a brand name - not an acronym but a proper noun. It needs only one upper case letter, and that should go at the start of the word.

"Barcos" is the correct way to write it.

What an awful camera feed of the White House in Washington DC currently being used as a chroma background - totally wonky and not filling a 16:9 screen.

It's always used - totally shoddy and not sure why it's 4:3 when the Washington studio is in 16:9. On national bulletins they tend to squeeze it to 16:9 so it doesn't look as rubbish!

Is World News America's studio used by other productions? Why not seat a guest in there?

On a new topic, I presume we are going to get some new Olympic themed Countdowns on the News channel and World News soon, wonder when.

It's also recommended that when you start a sentence, ideally it shouldn't be started with the word 'using'. Just thought I'd point out one of your errors.

Maybe I watch the BBC News ticker too much, not a good influence!

Why? Has it given you Parkinson's with its endless hippy shakes?

Is it only me who thinks these backdrops look pretty much identical and certainly can't see why anyone would be able to notice what appear to be the tiniest of differences?

You are certainly not the only person. Tedious discussion.

The only one that looks different at all to me is the very last one.

I thought they did look quite different hence why I made the post, but obviously not everyone does and it's not to all tastes. Will avoid posts like this in future!
