BBC News Channel: Presentation

According to this http://www.bbc.co.uk/ariel/17241856 Olly Foster is the only sports presenter to move to Salford. He will be joined by Katie Gornall, Katherine Downes, Damian Johnson, Andrew Lindsay and Jenny Culshaw.

Quite surprising to see that only one of them has moved up. I would think that the others would move up soon.

It also seems that BBC World News' sport has not moved up yet, perhaps as a back up at the moment if something at Salford causes problems

It's wonderful! A bit like the Sky News Centre in my opinion.

Amelia Harris is also headed to Salford it seems, and presumably at least a couple of the current World News sports team are going?

I notice the astons are obviously produced in Salford. they look a bit different and have a slightly different animation. Also, would like a tighter, high camera shot to get in more of the screen and less of the desk.

Really great so far. Do they still have the :15 sports headlines?

See time of bulletin has changed to :33 so as presumably not to clash with Sport Today on World.

Olly having a very long shift! Been at Salford since about 6-7 this morning.

Can also see a World News feed on one of the monitors in background! Will have to use that when my current stream ends up shut down This Sport studio is very nice, I'm sure it will begin to be used more flexibly in time. N6 was used very badly when they re-did it back in 2008 but now looks nice.

It does seem odd that they have two different sets, one for NC and one for World, controlled by one Gallery meaning only one can be on air at once. Why not just have the one set, or have two galleries?

That's normal. One shift covers bulletins 8.30 - 4.00, the other 4.00 - 12.00.

Seemless opt-out on NC for sports headlines on the One. No mistakes so far at all - impressive!

Looking forward to Sportsday tonight at 1845 to see how that longer bulletin is handled!
