BBC News/World News look to be in a different studio tonight (Think it's N9).

Adnan Nawaz was in there last night as well.

Looks to be different as well as Rachael Hodges is using a keyboard and a mouse rather than a laptop and last night there was a TV screen rather than the big video wall they normally use.

Yes, the studio used on the overnights for the last two nights is indeed N9, the old 'home' for BBC World News. It's normally used once in every 7-12 weeks as and when N8 (the regular overnight studio) is undergoing maintenance.

BAFTA time shortly, where we are promised the usual elegance of Jane Hill on the red carpet, and an interview with Miss Piggy! Stay tuned folks.

And it's looked a damn sight better since it was kitted out in BBC News red and white (when was this done, by the way?)

About one year ago, IIRC.

Is the ticker not manually keyed in?

Its currently running (over and over) the Reuters story of Whitney Houston being "underwater and apparently unconscious when..." and then nothing. It just trails off.

That's a bit poor.

Its just faded off the screen and they've dropped the Reuters reference and added the word "found".

Nice to know they're reading along here.

And now they've added, "...in her hotel room".

Although that makes less sense, as she was probably in the bathroom of her hotel room.

Do you regularly have whole conversations on your own, Gav? Wink

When I watched World Business Report yesterday, they messed up the ticker on that as well, things don't seem to go well on overnights on BBC News/World.

Got the BBC News logo over the BBC World News logo. (Was the whole way through, but not so obvious when the clock was covering it.

It stands out more on the iPlayer version as the clock is missing, but the headline ticker that's normally missing on iPlayer programs is still there.

Then at the end of the live one it appeared & disappeared several times during the weather, only disappearing when Breakfast came on.

A small thing but I notice now at the start of the Five the presenter doesn't read the first story at the TOTH with a wide shot of the studio, just pretty much the same as any other hour.

Yes, they've been doing that a few weeks now. Gavin looked at the side camera as it panned down on Friday only for it to then change to the normal straight on camera. Strange, as it is done by the same team as the News at One and that usually keeps the panning shot.
