Once TC7 is shut expect the 1700 to move to N8, to allow the Six record & rehearsal, and the full 2100 hour likewise.
This is all, obviously, dependant on timelines not shifting too much!

Interesting and logical solutions. I suppose it makes sense to close TC7 first as it's not technically owned by News unlike N6 and N8.

Good point that...

TC7 will close first, once NN is up and running in Studio B, because it needs to be handed back to resources.
Marr will be the first programme from Studio B in early Sept, with Sunday Politics a week or two later and NN on air soon after that.

September... Shocked

Does that mean all the schedules have slipped again, or is World News still moving in June?

Plan is to get World moved and settled in Studio C before the American elections ... This will have to happen before the oympic lockdown period.
The set is currently under construction and operational proving for the gallery starts in next month.

When's the newsroom itself moving? Surely that will be a huge task. Does it have to be all done at once, or can different departments go separately - eg world affairs go first as World News is moving. Presumably the newsroom will still be able to get stuff over to TVC for the NC even after it's moved to BH.*

Different departments that make up the newsroom will all migrate in sequences.
Working across buildings will become the norm for at least a year till everyone finally joins up together, probably march 2013.
It's a mammoth task!

Are the National News and News Channel both coming from the same studio then? What will happen to the news channel before BBC One bulletins because surely they'd need rehearsal time etc?

Yup, studio E is their home, on the newsroom floor.
You will have to wait and see I'm afraid....

A similar arrangement to what will happen in N8 later this year? The insiders (who have been very generous with their information) have hinted all the way through at more cross-over between studios - World News utilising the otherwise empty Newsnight studio, the possibility of the London studio being used on nationals (though whether that's possible/likely if they are in fact staying put I don't know?) and then that virtual reality studio (though how often this is used, again, I don't know).

For example, surely the 21:00-22:00 hour could come from London's otherwise empty studio (leaving the technicalities, for which I am clueless, aside), allowing both the Ten and Newsnight to rehearse and prepare in studios E and B respectively? Or the current arrangement of coming from World News (now studio C) for the 2130 half hour could stick.

Surely the 1700 hour will come from studio B if the Six doesn't (which makes more sense - the Five O'Clock is the single stand-alone bulletin exclusive to the News Channel, comparatively it makes sense to keep the nationals identical) now that Newsround's in Salford.

I just hope the Six and Ten remain as bulletins independent of the News Channel and don't go down the route of the One - might seem like a good idea to accountants, but I think they're must stronger separately.

i'm sure Media Boy said that the studios are bases. So perhaps this could see new programmes on the NC and allow the back half hour before the 10 to come from the newsroom.

So if I recalled Media Boy correctly, it seems that the news could come from any available studio if it really wanted to. Perhaps changes to the news at five to allow the One, Six and Ten to share the same studio.

While that's all true, with all the budget cuts, "Delivering Quality First" and the commitment to deliver a more breaking news-driven News Channel, I don't imagine we're going to get a much more adventurous News Channel. While I can see it moving to get out of the way of nationals, I can't imagine there will be many studio differences to now.

I'd also hope that either the News at One comes from another studio to the News Channel or that they're able to use the opt-out more frequently. Hard to argue you're making it a more breaking news-driven channel if you're then confined to a set bulletin at one of the busiest times of the day.

Very odd. Goes to show though that the BBC News logo isn't needed on screen.

Not really. It's not just there to look good, you know.

Well with the constant name checks, theme music and titles, I doubt the on-screen logo makes that much of a difference anyway. It's basically just a DOG and with digital receivers today telling you the channel name anyway there isn't any need for it.

What about public places which are playing BBC News?
