You might have something there. I believe Huw Edwards knowing your name is the first step in getting a job on the BBC News Channel.
Good to see Nick Higham interviewing ex-GMTV's Penny Smith at the Costa Book Awards introduced as 'A familiar face from our morning TV screens'... sadly not anymore
Huw even name checking her out of the interview.
Maybe she could be a potential future presenter on the News channel.

Ooooh, Matthew presenting a story and interviewing on a stool at the side of the studio just now, using interesting graphics on the Barco to tell the story. Shame I can't get a caption, can anybody else, DrewF maybe?!

Very nice indeed
Now this is something which would be nice to see more often.
Another way they could utilise this area could be the front pages of the papers reviews (with the reviewer) by putting the newspaper front pages on the Barcos, rather than at the desk all the time, much like they do with Film24.

Fraid not DanS, but I have just got these pics from the Oscars Special on the BBC NC earlier (with Matthew's much more glamorous looking co-presenter) hence why I hadn't noticed..
Not a fan of the interview pics above that Worzel has capped...more suitable for light-hearted stories. The camera is miles away too making everyone look tiny.

This is sort of Broadcasting House related but thought it fitted more here.
With BBC World News moving to BH in the summer, what will happen with the half hour before the 10 which is currently in N8? None of the options to me make sense but one will have to be picked: they either scrap rehearsal times for the ten (which will never happen IMO), keep the half hour in N8 (which I would assume would be very costly as it's basically manning a gallery for 30 minutes, or moving the half hour to World News' new BH studio (which would mean a different presenter would have to take over). The latter on reflection probably makes the most sense.

Or I suppose they could do a simulcast of the WNC with the NC at 9pm until 10pm, just like they do at 1am.

Do we have an up to date pic of Penny anywhere? I heard she wasn't blonde anymore.
Good to see Nick Higham interviewing ex-GMTV's Penny Smith at the Costa Book Awards introduced as 'A familiar face from our morning TV screens'... sadly not anymore
Huw even name checking her out of the interview.

I'm no expert, but she's better as a blonde.

I'm pretty sure that Newsnight is moving first, so the News at 10 will probably come from TC7 thereafter, and the News Channel will no longer need to decamp to N8 for 30 minutes. N8 will likely just close when BBC World News moves.
