I believe the plan is to use the BBC World News studio for the 2130 half hour. Obviously that means N9 at the moment, but N8 when BBC World News have moved

Oh dear... someone didn't press the button to start the bed at the 11pm TOTH.

It emphasises, in a way, what an important role the bed plays. It just felt so empty and paceless without it.

BBC World should put WBR back to 9:30pm and then this is simulcast on the News Channel.

This happend at 7pm too. Not sure if it was done deliberatly to make it sound more effective.

I don't think it was intentional. Sophie Long paused for ages at 11pm, obviously waiting for the vamp to start. In any case, the vamp's absence did prove how useful it is. As jrothwell97 said, it is surprising how much pace it adds to the TOTH sequence.

But there's another WBR at 2215 on BBC World. Viewers may not like the schedule.

Ditch that edition and put it on at 9:30pm, it used to be before.

I might be being a little thick here.....but why is BBC News (24) currently coming from the old N24 studio?? is this normal for overnight? There's no World News branding as far as I'm aware or any obvious reason for being there....its just i've not seen this hour of the day recently & wondered why it was so....thank you Confused

The overnights have always been similcast by BBC News (24) and BBC World under the title of 'BBC News'
Under the BBC News 24 regeime the shared broadcast was filmed in BBC News 24's studio ( N8 ) but now under this new rebranding this is now coming from BBC World's studio (N9) which reembles a smaller version of BBC News 24's old studio and indeed on close up shots of the presenter it can be difficult to tell the difference.
It is quite normal durin the weekend for BBC World to similcast with the uk news channel for only the first five mins before opting out to show documentaies ec.
Incidently BBC World will be moving into the studio vacated by the News (24) channel soon, althouh it will probably look a bit different.

No, it has always come from N9.

Sorry but you're wrong. I live in Dubai, have been watching World since the very beginning and can assure you that the overnight BBC News service largely came from N8 (News 24). N9 (World) was used from time to time, when N8 was undergoing cleaning or maintenance.

That's absolutely correct. I can't speak for the flags era, but certainly since 2000, N8 has been the main home of the overnight bulletins.
