Can we assume the 'New Year' programme listed on the EPG for 1135pm is the same one that will be simulcast on BBC ONE from 1150pm?

Well it has been for the last few years.

Well they're not at the moment!

Did BBC Scotland get their own NC bulletin for Hogmany like they've done in the past?

No. The late news on BBC One was on at the same time in all Nations and Regions. BBC Scotland did follow the BBC News with a Reporting Scotland bulletin.

Seems there wasn't any trails lined up for the 16:00 TOTH sequence then. Cue about 30" of the breakfiller version of the countdown footage before the TV license promo. Nice.

Very strange goings on on the News Channel at the moment.

We had a story, introduced by Louisa Baldini, then it was Jane Hill in the main news studio with a story regarding train tickets, then back to Louisa Baldini about the US elections.

Didn't see it, but two guesses: Louisa introduced a package, while that was on the link failed so Jane picked up and then they went back to Louisa when the link was restored. Or Louisa's OB is a simulcast with World and there are some strange timings to work around.

I'm not sure how Emily and Jon get away with their antics, they must be gallery's worst nightmare! Always going on extended discussions about things messing up timings, laughing with each other, making jokes.

Right now, Emily was finishing an interview, then the camera went to Jon, about to talk to Norman Smith but Emily started to do the interview. After a quick joke and a shot of Norman, they moved Norman over to Emily's camera and she started interviewing him. Emily ended the interview with "I'll have to end it there as I'm getting snotty looks from my co-presenter for doing all the talking!"

Always makes for good viewing, if not very appropriate for a news channel Wink

Slightly off topic, but nice to see veteran actor Geoffrey Palmer expressing his views on HS2!

(Half expected to see Dame Judi Dench in tow too!)
