Some of them probably wont. It depends on whether they want to further their career at BBC Sport, or stay in London.
...and its not as if sport is going to be completely gone from the London newsroom, there will still be Sports News Correspondents operating out of Broadcasting House don't forget.
As for the studio, it's a superb idea, firmly cementing BBC Sport as a separate entity to BBC News. Only 3 months to go to see the studio in use
The studio looks lovely and I'm sure it will be much better than the current set up. I'm not sure all the sport presenters would want to relocate to Salford though.

I would quite like to see a similar studio set used for the news. I've never been all that keen on the small pod on BBC World, which is rarely used now anyway. That BBC Sport concept, above, would look quite nice for news, IMO.

And they could fit two sets that size under the mezzanines in the BH Newsroom at 90degrees to the NC Studio

First half of 2013.
The News Channel is moving in 2013, but the article at Ariel seems to suggest that BBC World News could be moving in late Summer 2012. So perhaps we will see Broadcasting House start to appear on the overnights months before the NC actually moves.
Any date set for BBC News moving to W1 yet?

In the mix at W1 by Cathy Loughran - 6th December 2011 posted:
...first half of 2012 will see TV and Radio current affairs co-siting on the fourth floor and the move of some Newsgathering specialists. It is critical, Griffee says, that big battalions like
World Service News and Newsnight, which are not in the frontline of Olympic coverage, are installed before London 2012 next July.
Late summer it will be the turn of World TV , News Online, most of Business and the majority of the News specialists, who'll be based on the second floor.
The final push will be in the first half of 2013 as domestic tv news and the weather operation move over. In total, five brand new sets will have to be installed for the One, Six and Ten, Newsnight/World News and the News Channel.

Would anyone agree that the news channel seems to have flowed better over the Christmas period than it usually does during the normal weeks. Using the duty news channel presenter on the 1pm BBC One bulletin just adds more consitency to the channel, when the likes of Matthew Amroliwala etc are more than capable at presenting them.

I think I agree. The 8:30am shift also worked well with just one presenter. And there is no need for a News at Five if they are cost cutting.
