Nice (and a rarity) to see the likes of Fiona Bruce and George throwing to the weather or another programme on the BBC News channel after the national headlines on BBC One. Smile Shame it will only happen on the Christmas and New Year period.

It's a shame both the NC & BBC One can't schedule the weather at the same time, so the closing anno should go along the lines of 'Now the weather', transmit the weather, BBC One opts out at the end, then the NC continues on it's merry way!

It would mess the weather times up on the NC though. The NC would either have got 3 forecasts in 35 minutes (2155-ish, 2210-ish, 2225-ish), or would have had a 45 minute gap between forecasts (2210-ish then 2255-ish).

Any ideas as to why Sky's EPG and Freeview's EPG are showing that BBC World News is on at 1am, even though it's a 'BBC News' simulcast between NC and World?

Unless I missed it on here, there was a good photo of the new BBC News Sport studio posted by James Pearce last week from Salford:

So will this be where all the sports news will be presented from on the news channel? I.e crossing over to this studio?

Looks much nicer than a guy standing at a podium with a backing screen, which never worked well for guests or interviews!

He said on Twitter that the studio will be used for sports news bulletins from March. A safe assumption would be that it will be used on both channels. Obviously official people in the know will be able to tell us for sure. Looks really good so much better than current set-up.

The question is will it be a simple locked off camera for most bulletins and just use the full studio for the likes of Sports World Have Your Say?

And does it give an indication of what the rest of News will look like from W1 do we think? Would make sense to have some brand continuity for the future... Let the wild speculation begin Smile
