The tree appears to have disappeared from the NC this morning - think someone has put on the wrong backdrop as it's a slightly blue tinted version that we occasionally see used.

I don't know why but it is occasionally used. The main backdrop used has more colour in it:

Could be a possibility, but usually when the HD server fails we see this backdrop:

Not so interesting fact - that cap was from the last shift Roger did on the channel, doubt he'll return now he is at NWT.

The graphics and astons have vanished from the BBC News Channel...there is still a 'Live' graphic onscreen though which is odd.
