Stop being so negative. Of course there was a reason for moving studio.

Yeah they wanted to save money but renaming the channel is a mistake, the presenters have shown that this week already.

I don't think the fact the presenter's aren't yet used to it shows it is a bad decision.

It will be a bad decision. I see it in my crystal ball! Wink

Are you joking? If the BBC staff can't get it right, what is Joe Public supposed to do? They've got rid of an established brand and replaced it with utter confusion.

I'm not saying that it wasn't a bad decision - I believe it was. However, I don't think that after less than a week of presenter's getting it wrong sometimes after 10 years of saying it, I don't think on that alone can we brand it stupid.

That wasn;t what I was saying, I was using the presenters as just an example, but as I said before building a brand over ten long years, and then renaming it, is a mistake,

Yeah but it's not like it's going to cause people to switch off in their droves. Do you seriously think there is any confusion from a viewer's point of view? It's still news from the BBC, give it a few weeks and the 24 will be a distant memory.

maybe not in droves, but it sure dosen't feel like a 24 hour channel, the channel has gone from very relaxed in 1997 to very stuffy and boring between 1999-2003, they hit the right note between 2003-2008, but now its stuffy an boring again, they also need to make 9:30pm a World News roundup, its really odd watching two totally different sets.

That has nothing to do with the name though.

I'm assuming, and hoping, that this will be solved once N8 is opened again for BBC WORLD (NEWS) i.e. the sets will be similar.

Are News Channel permanently going to be in N8 at 9:30 for rehearsals for 10 in N6?
