Then, the BBC World News DOG remained after the 9:30 headline summary and when it disappeared, the strap that appeared was a strap that would be seen on National Bulletins (I.e. with 'BBC News' animating on at the bottom). Then the usual DOG and clock came up.

How, when they're in N8 and using N8's gallery, did that national strap appear? Odd.

I think the same strap is used on the National bulletins and the News Channel. You just don't see the 'BBC News' animating because the DOG is covering it up.

You can see it animating whenever someone is signing for the deaf and the main portion of the screen minimises.

You occasionally see that BBC WORLD dog anyway at 2130 on the NC anyway.

Something even more odd going on now. The 2008 filler countdown - I assume this is because Children in Need's concert is running over but why the old version of the filler? N8 not been updated?

I doubt N8 will be playing it out, they'll be busy with their own bulletin.

Good point. Strange the old version came out though.

Didn't see it, but N8 is routed to air via a network switcher in N6, and the News Channel ticker (and astons for non-BBC1 bulletins) is added after that switcher.

There's a second Viz that's used for the network bulletins for astons which is added via the main N6 vision mixer. This is so that there's a clean output for BBC1 without the ticker.

Are you sure it was an old one? I just watched back, and it had John Simpson ducking at a thunderclap, which I thought was a recent addition.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that John Simpson's bit on the countdown is new, also the one with Clive Myrie just beforehand.

Edit - World News version of John Simpson ducking......
