This is the presentation thread people, not the presenter one...
Bit of a grey area I suppose - it is the
presentation
of the presenters
I personally think it's much more difficult for women in any work place to get the dress-code right. For us blokes, it's simple - a suit. Women have so many more issues.
However, I do not lose sleep over this issue, nor do I care what Joanna's hair looks like when she's discussing the issues in Libya.
Carol Kirkwood has been sent to Kew Gardens to do a report on the warm spell, so, interestingly, we've been having weather forecasts on location from her on the News Channel but without weather graphics!
Started with it. Popped out after Nick Robinson's live (18:07)..

My 1st anniversary of being a TVF member, and what better way to mark my first post of the day, than taking a look back to see how BBC News 24 has evolved over the last 14 years, into the BBC News Channel that we all know and (sometimes!) love today. All clips should be in chronological order, and should make us all feel nostalgic and bring back some memories...
I think it was such a shame that the 2007 version of BBC News 24 was so short-lived. The graphics were so much slicker than anything that had come before as well as today's. And whose idea was it to change that name?!
I don't understand why Lambie-Nairne felt the need to go back to Gill Sans - why couldn't it just remain for the logo? However, whilst I have generally been a hater of the boxes, I do think putting BBC News in a box (naturally along with all the similar graphics and white titles) has strengthened it's brand. I'm sure everything will be nice again once they're in Broadcasting House. Cuts or no cuts, we will need to have a new version of the title sequence at least imo.
That's the thing, the brand is unified now but as a design, I think its starting to look a little stale now. I much preferred the previous on-screen graphics, and for instance the international channels like BBC Arabic, had a much nicer design before the 2008 look came in.
With the move to BH coming fairly soon, I think it would be nice to recognise the change by creating a whole new design for BBC News. I'd even go as far to say that the music needs a remix. However, I have a feeling that we won't really see much of a change.
