I wouldn't describe BBC News camera angles as very 4:3 safe - here's a few past ones in 4:3 format which are very very squeezed:
They've just done this again, a full screen photograph of Rihanna left her cut in half on 4:3 screens.
Why don't they just change their astons as well, because this "pretending" to be 4:3 safe is just a waste of time.
...although, framing Ellie Crissell outside 4:3 safe areas is no bad thing, perhaps they could turn her mic off as well.

Out of the three female presenters in those pictures, Joanna Gosling and Fiona Armstrong are the only two who actually look like newsreaders (ie. wearing suits and having their hair styled in a mature, professional manner). Ellie Crisell looks as though she's going out shopping or something.

If you think that one's bad see this!
She looks like a pre-school teaching assistant in this one! Has she ever actually worn a suit on air before, like pretty much every other presenter on the NC has done?

I've commented on this before and do agree that she looks like she's just come back from going out to lunch!
I don't see what's wrong with it, as long as it's not something sexual or too revealing it's ok for tv, news presentation has changes and with it the rules about clothing too. We see female presenters wearing more relaxed, feminine outfits and hairstyles. Joanna's short hair looks very bad to me.

I think if that's the case, the male presenters should be able to do that too. Could be classed as sexist if not.
