Why don't they use that shot in front of the N8 Barcos for the half an hour that the NC moves into there so N6 can rehearse the 10? With the fake newsroom background on it it could look seamless rather than randomly jumping to a different studio.

They have to do sport and business too, and they won't fit on the same edge of the desk - plus the fact that the presenter in N6 says something about the rest of the headlines from the "world newsroom" before 21:30 so it seems a little less dis-jointed.

I think that the 2130 headline sequence, presented by the displayed BBC News channel presenter, is also carried by BBC World News as a "top of the hour" headline sequence for the countries that have a timezone which is X hours and 30 minutes different to GMT (There are a couple of regions who do this - including India - where IST is GMT+5 hours 30 mins) I think they opt out after the first minute?

You often spot some opt-in/opt-out timing issues (titles running from freezes, odd holds in or out of the weather before etc.)

I guess they want it to look as normal as possible for BBC World News viewers. Also they need to be able to do sport, business, and other studio interviews - which you can't do against the Barco wall in the BBC World News studio.

Yes, indeed, Noggin. TOTH in several countries.

Naga has just trailed BBC Breakfast during the current BBC World News slot (The World Today), which I believe is tri-cast on BBC World, BBC News Channel and BBC1.

She said "coming up soon on this channel, join BBC Breakfast with Simon McCoy and Kate Silverton on the sofa". I have never heard this stated before on this programme, and the comment will baffle all BBC World viewers, who will have no idea of a sofa-based programme on this channel. And also, they won't know who Simon and Kate are!

Why was this trail done today? Just filling time, perhaps?

Perhaps she thought she was in a segment which is only broadcast to UK viewers. Aren't there quite a few, when WN viewers are seeing adverts or trailers for international programmes?

No, it was mid script and not within one of the obvious opts. In fact, it was when we came back at the BOTH for the headline recap and prior to handing over to Sally Eden for WBR. This segment - particularly the headline recap - is always shown on BBC World.

A Football Focus special on the NC right now, coming from N6:

It's also on World. Who gave those football sporty types permission to be in our domain, I.e the Newsroom??

It's weird. The BBC News sports reporters plus Dan Walker and a couple of pundits in N6. Difficult to call this Football Focus really.

The presenters look, and seem to feel, out of place.

Would have expected it to be coming from Salford - after all Football Focus has moved there.

It's a shame they couldn't make it look more like the BBC Sport look and feel, their astons for example and making it a bit darker and moodier.

Given that news and sport both work with studio sets that are mainly large video walls, and need comprehensive graphics and comms facilities, I wonder if they have any kind of reciprocal agreement between the two departments, so that if TC5 has a big failure they could borrow TC7 and vice versa? (I know RTE have done election coverage from TC5 before now).

If there was such an agreement you would assume that the news graphics systems would be able to generate astons that look like the Sport ones.

Looked very odd and distracted from the sports story.
