It was done terribly - the angle was strange so the screen was hard to see, and Joanna looked tiny because the camera was so far away. I think it's a nice visual thing when done properly but in a lot of cases it's not adding anything to the story. It's probably most useful when they have something to show like a map, or details on the screen.

I agree with this comment wholeheartedly - it could have been done so much better and she just looked small. If we're doing comparisons to Sky, then this was quite a lame attempt at rivalling the newswall. Sky uses many different camera angles and the presenters often move around - Joanna is just standing there next to a BARCO that's not actually telling you much.

BBC News Channel just had an advert saying, Stay with the BBC for unparalleled coverage, while showing clips from this year's main news, in Greece, the wedding etc.

Perhaps this is because Sky is getting looked at so much for Libya at the moment?

The BBC NC have been showing that advert for the last 3/4 weeks now before Sky News was getting so much praise for its Libya coverage, so I don't think they're connected. Although I could be wrong...

OK. It's the first time I've seen it, that's all. Not a bad advert.

I suppose it could have been done a camera angle little like this...

Still, it was a stood up TOTH, something I thought I'd never see on the news channel.

Don't get me wrong, I don't wish to see a stood up TOTH every hour on the news channel, but a couple of times in the day, especially on the BBC News at 5 would be a nice touch.

The breaking news ticker currently has the word 'bomber' twice. I have seen it scroll round 6 times now. I wonder what time they will notice.

"CNN & REUTERS ARE REPORTING THAT THE LOCKERBIE BOMBER BOMBER ABDEL BASET AL-MEGRAHI IS CLOSE TO DEATH ..."

Yup. Overnights from N6 for most of this week. I don't think there's anything particularly exciting going on in N8 beyond some electrical safety testing.

Looks like Reports has got a(nother) new look... http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b014799s/. Not sure myself!

If you don't know what it looked like before, see TV Newsbreak.

I wonder if they have a yellow background and the graphics/titles for Newsday in N6?
