I think that's a very good edit indeed. Yes, there are some discrepancies here and there with how newer footage compares with older video, but the difference between the original scenes with the red 'video streams' darting across landscapes, and the newer scenes without those elements, isn't too jarring, and certainly wouldn't be an issue for the casual viewer, who isn't looking for such close commonalities between scenes. I actually think there's a nice balance between those sections with and without the video streams.
The 'boom' at 60s, to which John Simpson appears to be reacting in the video, is a particularly nice touch.
Yasmin Alibhai Brown kicking off again during the newspaper review, once again Anita McVeigh handled it well, but it very nearly became this all over again...
Anyone see the error approaching the junction to the 13:00 TOTH?
From memory, weather forecast was prematurely cut-off followed by: a still frame of what looked like a VT; momentary black screen; frame of what may have been the start of the short globe sting and the countdown cued at 57" 00. Trails then played as normal and the countdown was played in from around 35".

The 15:00 TOTH was a bit dodgy too - nice long 55 second countdown but then no transitions between headlines and there was about ten seconds of silence on one of the headlines.
Something a bit different on the BBC News ticker which I've never seen before.
On the Breaking strap it says about a news story and then goes on to say:
'Are you in Bournemouth and did you witness the incident? Text Pics to 61124'.

Adam Parsons and Adnan Nawaz joining forces in N6 on the breaking news that's happening tonight in Libya, with Matthew Price on a roof in Tripoli. Is this a World simulcast? Adam still did a time check of 11 o'clock when starting the TOTH headlines.

This is being discussed in the Libya and Syria thread. Yes, it is a World simulcast as just before that point Adnan said 'We'll be back in just a few minutes' - then the countdown played for 10 seconds. Presume that World have to go to an ad break.
